Dylan’s Minimalist DIY Dinosaur 1st Birthday Party

Minimalist Dino Party 3-min

“Dinosaur, dinosaur, ro-ro-roaaaar!!!” That is Dylan’s favorite play chant and also, the theme of his first birthday celebration at home!

We had an intimate, ocean-themed celebration with close family and friends, a few days after his actual birthday. But on his actual birthday, we had a simple celebration at home, just us 4!

I know it’s half a year delayed, but here are some photos and details about that little black and white, minimalist dinosaur party we had at home.

DIY Dinosaur Party Decor

To achieve the black and white, minimalist dinosaur theme that I wanted… I mean, that Dylan wanted (lol, who are we kidding, hahaha,) we printed dinosaur silhouettes, which were to be strung together in black and white twine.

I wanted to involve my eldest in the party details so I tried to make it as simple as I could. He was the one who cut the dinosaur silhouettes out and stick them on the twine using tape.

Then I created paper hats using bond paper and drew patterns on them using markers. Simple!

Ordered an apple crumble cake (our family fave!) and placed a DIY topper. Also a dinosaur silhouette, printed and stuck using toothpicks!

And that’s it! Haha. I told you this minimalist dinosaur party was super simple and very easy to achieve! More importantly, my eldest had fun creating the decor with me. And as for the birthday celebrant himself, well, just give him any dinosaur shaped thing and he’s happy! 😀

Super love this concept. I recalled this was my inspo when I had my youngest 1st bday as well. It was only the 4 of us and we just chose “the little prince” theme. The only purchased item was a cake from a panaderia nearby. Hehe. The most important thing is that we were celebrating him. Thanks for being an inspiration.
