5 of Our Favorite Summer Must-Haves When Traveling with Kids

It’s almost summertime again and we can’t wait to spend hours of fun under the sun! Here are 5 of our latest favorite summer must-haves and I think you guys will also love them too, especially if you’re traveling with young kids and babies.

1. High Protection Sun Lotion

Always number one on our list are our favorite sun lotions from Mustela: the Very High Protection Sun Lotion and their After-Sun Lotion are both perfectly safe from babies onwards.

What I love most about them: Its high protection, hypoallergenic, high tolerance water-resistant formula

We use it for both our boys and have used it ever since our youngest, Dylan, was still a baby. We apply it on them whenever we plan to spend the day under the sun (whether it be at the beach, theme park or even just in a playground!)

2. Swim Diapers

Whenever Dylan goes swimming, we make sure he’s in his Orange and Peach swim pants! If you ask me, all babies should be required to wear swim diapers for hygiene’s sake! Swim diapers prevent the spread of fecal bacteria contamination (E. Coli, anyone? Ew,) which can be very dangerous for everyone.

What I love most about it: It’s made from special material that doesn’t swell in water and it’s easy to wear and remove, even when wet.

3. Beach-Friendly Blanket & Towels

Is having sand inside your car or hotel room after a day at the beach one of your pet-peeves? It’s definitely one of mine and one of the reasons why I sometimes slightly dread beach trips with kids! (Haha, don’t shoot me. :p)

This is why I love these blankets and towels from Lagu, which are sand repellent! Yep, you read that right.

What I love most about it: Not only does a beach-friendly blanket repel sand for your comfort (less clean-up, yay,) it also helps conserve the beach! Win-win. Plus points that these Lagu blankets and towels are also quick drying!

4. Picnic Essentials

Summer is a wonderful time for picnics! Some of my favorite picnic essentials include this Packit Mod Snack Bento Container with removable dividers and our freezable lunch bags, also from Packit (yes, in plural form because we are obsessed and have them in all sizes! Haha.)

What I love most about them: The removable dividers in the bento container allows me to maximize and organize our snacks inside. The freezable lunch bags are THE BEST in keeping food cool. They are also very convenient; you just put them in the freezer and pull them out whenever you need them!

5. Water Resistant Camera

And a little something on this list for the little kids to enjoy! We recently got the myFirst Water Resistant Camera and my 5 year old loves snapping away with it.

I love that it gives him the freedom to be creative and take his own shots without me worrying he would break my very expensive camera. Haha! It’s also so fun to see all the cute photos he’d take after!

What I love most about it: The camera is made with reinforced high strength polymers for underwater additional drop protection. Can be used up to 3m underwater for 180 minutes! Pretty neat!
